My motto, generally used when trying to talk myself out of feeling like a loser when I've completely goofed, is: Life is a learning experience. So hopefully I'm ok at the whole life long learning thing. I think of myself as a capable learner, but I rarely give myself permission to take time to learn things that don't seem like they have a practical application in my already full life. It's actually pretty sad/ironic since in much of my professional life I'm trying to promote the importance of reading for fun.
Now that I've signed up for this program and I've been given assignments I can have some fun learning about all the things I've heard about but haven't taken the time to fully investigate.
